REQUIREMENTS:

- 3+ years of experience in VFX or Animation industry
- Degree or Relevant post-secondary education required
- Experience using and troubleshooting in Maya/Blender (or other similar software, Houdini, Nuke)
- An understanding of traditional animation and layout techniques
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail - Analytical ability and capacity for synthesizing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to adapt to change
- Experience creating 3D models, rigging, animation, or VFX is a plus
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and work under strict deadlines
- Experience with at least one of the source control systems

RESPOSIBILITIES:

- Integrating tools with existing in-house tools and code base
- Creating documentation and tutorials for tools and integrations
- Customizing existing scripted tools to suit the needs of the studio, projects, and artists
- Working with artists, leads, and supervisors to implement solutions for production workflows
- Developing tools in collaboration with the pipeline developers and studio coding standards
- Provide weekly updates on Pipeline development status, and notifies stakeholders of any upcoming production risks
- Keep up to speed on current technology trends and tools both hardware and software
- Collaborate with Technical Artists and other creative teams to create automated solutions for complicated tasks
- Develop documentation for creative teams to reference when using custom toolsets
- Collaborate with IT staff to meet the infrastructure requirements of the study Qualifications Experience with one or more common programming languages used in the development of DCC tools, such as Python.
- Study tools and workflows in existing productions to see how they can be optimized
- Understand the needs of content creation teams and translate them into intelligently scoped development projects
